FAQ
How do I combine multiple .m2t files on my timeline?
For maximum compatibility with PCs and MACs the Datavideo DN-300, DN-400, DN-500 are FAT32 based. FAT32 uses a 2G (approx) file limit, so longer clips will be broken into several sequential files.
Because of the nature of Open GOP compression, the Open GOP structure of an .m2t stream requires information that is contained in these multiple files to have a truly continuous video/audio file.
As some NLE systems do not combine the m2t files when imported, this needs to be done prior to import, so Datavideo provide a utility
(M2T_FileCombine.exe)
to combine the m2t file
Frequently Asked Questions
Which HDD Drive can I use for my DN-400/ DN-500 recorder?
In general, Datavideo recommends HDDs at 7200 rpm with 8 or (better) 16 MB cache memory.
Preferred brands are: Hitachi, WD, Fujitsu. Datavideo does not support the use of Seagate drives.
Take advantage of tapeless acquisition in even the roughest conditions by recording in DV & HDV. Users of the DN-400 can make capturing a thing of the past enjoying confident native DV & HDV recording while monitoring on a standard video monitor (SD Only). Once you have completed your recording simply eject the harddrive carrier, for easy connection via standard USB connector to your NLE system - it is as easy as that!
